Andreas' Expertise
Andreas’ journey from the picturesque landscapes of Austria to the technology hubs in Australia epitomises a diverse and profound exploration in the realms of technology and biology. His academic and professional odyssey began in a high school focused on computer science and organisation, setting the stage for a lifelong ambition to intertwine the digital world with biological sciences. With a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science, Andreas’ early fascination was with artificial life and artificial intelligence, a curiosity that fueled his ambition and shaped his future endeavours.
His career, extending over two decades, has been a testament to his relentless drive for innovation. It spans across continents and industries, demonstrating a consistent ability to lead and develop digital solutions that bridge technology with life sciences. This journey led Andreas to a significant milestone, receiving a PhD in Computational Intelligence from De Montfort University.
Upon moving to Australia, Andreas gained invaluable experience working for a company at the forefront of smart transportation and smart city solutions, utilising Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. This role enriched his understanding of digital systems in complex urban environments. His Master’s studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), undertaken later while continuing his professional pursuits, focused on Innovative Governance of Large Urban Systems, culminating in a thesis that explored enhancing well-being through ICT.
Noteworthy in his career is Andreas’ leadership in designing and implementing a sophisticated system for monitoring and controlling hundreds of bioreactors.
This system, a marvel of integration between IoT, cloud technologies and AI, not only streamlined biotechnological processes but also fostered new research and development pathways, representing a major advancement in the field.
In 2022, Andreas utilised his vast experience to launch Bio10x, a consultancy that embodies his vision for the future of biotech. Andreas’ deep understanding of the sector’s technical and biological challenges, coupled with his skill in navigating startup hurdles, makes him an invaluable ally for executives seeking to advance their operations. With Bio10x, companies don’t just get a consultant; they secure a visionary leader adept at navigating the fast-changing biotech environment.
